Born in Arta, in 1916.
He settled permanently in Athens in 1927. He graduated from the Athens School of Fine Arts in 1936. He then moved to Rome and Paris on a scholarship by the Academy of Athens. In Paris he studied painting and the art of fresco at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux Arts, as well as mosaic at the Ecole des Arts et Métiers.
In 1947 he was elected Professor at the Athens School of Fine Arts, where he remained until 1983.
In 1958 he represented Greece at the Venice Biennial together with the artists Antonis Sochos and Yiannis Tsarouchis.
A year later, in 1959, he plans the linear composition of the Northwest and Southeast side of the hotel.
